El Enemigo

The Enemy
Now known as one of the most famous estates in Mendoza, Argentina, El Enemigo has gone from strength to strength over the years, receiving increasing acclaim from critics around the world for its top-quality wines.
With extensive studies and her connection to her father Nicolas Zapata (founder of the famous Catena Zapata estate), Adrianna Zapata masterfully manages the El Enemigo estate alongside renowned winemaker Alejandro Vigil (who has been in charge of the Bodegas Catena Zapata vintages since 2002).
From their love for their terroir and their thirst for challenges, El Enemigo was born, embodying the inner struggle against the enemy that is our own limitations. They write: "At the end of the journey, we remember only one battle: the one we fought against ourselves, the original enemy, the one that defined us."
The El Enemigo estate is always striving to surpass itself, offering a magnificent range of grape varieties grown on the high-altitude slopes of the Uco Valley (over 1,400 meters): Malbec, Cabernet, Petit Verdot, Torrontes, Bonarda, Semillon, Chenin, and Chardonnay.
EachEl Enemigocuvée, whether white or red, is constantly enhanced by meticulous work in the vineyard (parcel selection, careful manual harvesting) and in the cellars (batch vinification, long maceration, very long aging, sometimes in century-old casks, etc.).
The ultimate reward for the Cabernet Sauvignon Gualtallary, named after the region where it flourishes: 100/100 Parker in 2013, and now 99/100 for the 2021 vintage. Nothing can stop the legend of this exceptional terroir and the El Enemigo estate.
