"Another side of Beaujolais"

Produced from an old vineyard plot located on a vein of Lantignié microgranite, this cuvée was harvested for the first time in 2018 after several years ravaged by hail. With its nose of ripe red fruits, cherries in brandy, menthol and camphor, Alio Pacto offers a silky, dense wine with a lovely juice and a fresh finish. Its tannins are already silky, although it is easy to imagine that a few years will allow it to blossom even further. Discover another side of Beaujolais, a wine grown in a different way—alio pacto in Latin—for divine pleasure!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2024 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Cédric Lecareux and his wife Catherine founded the Capréoles estate in July 2014 with three hectares of adjacent vineyards, which were expanded by two hectares two years later. From Beaujolais-Villages to Cru Régnié, everything is highly recommended, with, in our opinion, more refined aging. A wonderful place to visit.

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the estate:

Cédric Lecareux—who arrived from Languedoc-Roussillon, where he worked for the Gérard Bertrand group—and his wife, originally from Beaujolais, bought this 250-year-old estate in 2014. They cultivate 8 hectares of organic vines planted like a garden around the property, with an exceptional view of the two bell towers of Régnié-Durette.

Wine rated 15/20 (2019 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2024 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Cédric Lecareux is one of those new winemakers who are shaking up the Beaujolais region. After six harvests as technical director for a major Languedoc wine merchant, he moved to Régnié with his wife Catherine, an agricultural engineer like himself, to take over an abandoned estate. As soon as they arrived in 2014, they committed to organic certification, which was confirmed in 2017. Believers in the maxim "The rule is that there are no rules," they adapt their destemming and aging techniques each year.
