"A wine that reflects its unique terroir"

“The 60-year-old vines yielded just 25 hl/ha in 2019 to produce this beautiful Juliénas with rich aromas of black fruit and cocoa; full-bodied, velvety on the palate, with depth. ” (Bourgogne Aujourd’hui No. 158 – April–May 2021). A top-tier Burgundian-style wine not to be missed. A revelation from this young winemaker, whose first vintage, 2017, was already Favorite 2** Favorite Hachette Favorite !

Rated Estate (2021 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the wine:

Favorite his 2017 vintage of this same cuvée, Benjamin Passot presents a beautifully crafted 2019, made from old vines over 80 years old. After 10 months in oak barrels, this Juliénas displays woody notes (cocoa) that blend harmoniously with black fruit, followed by a full-bodied palate with pleasant depth, structured by fine tannins.

About the estate:

As a young winemaker, Benjamin Passot gained his first experience in winemaking in Vosne-Romanée. At the same time, he developed his own estate and began cultivating a few arpents of Juliénas in 2017. He has since acquired vineyards in Chénas and Chiroubles.

This wine has a lot of body. The oak is still noticeable and needs time to integrate. Best kept in the cellar for now.
