Le Figaro
“Opaque ruby. Vibrant aromas of cherry and dark berries with mineral accents capture notes of succulent herbs, Moroccan spices, vanilla, and candied flowers that unfold with each breath. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering densely layered flavors of black raspberry and cola-infused cherry, complemented by hints of five-spice powder and mocha. Long and spicy on the finish, with a resonant character of black fruit and velvety tannins that gradually fade into the wine’s juicy fruit.” (Vinous A. Galloni) Please note: limited quantities available.

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 16.5/20 (Benchmark wine)
Rated estate (2023 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
Gothic style, finely crafted. An elegant, vegetal profile that characterizes its noble austerity. Remarkable, creamy length. An uncompromising style. A lovely wine.
About the estate:
The ambitious and well-coordinated renovation of the vineyard and winery spearheaded by Jean-Jacques Parinet is now yielding the expected results. Progress has been remarkable, and the estate continues to lead the appellation. He can rely on a talented team, including Édouard Parinet, their cellar master Brice Lafon, and their communications manager Morgane Chambriard. A key player for the appellation and the region, he is a formidable ambassador who builds value and enhances the region’s image both in France and around the world.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)
Rated Winery (2023 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these wineries)
About the wine:
In Les Vérillats, the rose reveals its old-world charms with a hint of graphite. Enveloped in a full-bodied texture, it embodies the cool character of the terroir. It will age gracefully.
About the estate:
Since its acquisition by the Parinet family in 2009, this vast estate has invested significant human resources to revitalize the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, much as Château des Jacques did in its day. In a modern Gamay style, with long, carefully managed aging in oak, the estate’s numerous single-vineyard wines express the complexity and diversity of the soils. The 2016 vintage marked the debut of the estate’s first white vineyards (4.5 hectares) in the Mâcon and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations under the name Roc des Boutires.

Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (2019 guide) 16/20
About the wine:
The climate of Les Vérillats, with its shallow, acidic granite soil, is reflected in this cuvée—a light, airy, and fragrant wine with a floral profile, whose crisp, fresh palate brings out its spring-like character.
