Le Figaro

Opaque ruby. Vibrant aromas of cherry and dark berries with mineral accents capture notes of succulent herbs, Moroccan spices, vanilla, and candied flowers with air. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering densely packed flavors of black raspberry and cherry cola that are complemented by hints of five-spice powder and mocha. Long and spicy, with a resonant character of black fruit and velvety tannins that gradually fade into the wine's juicy fruit." (Vinous A. Galloni) Please note, limited quantities available.

Wine rated 16.5/20 (Reference wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About wine:

Gothic style, finely crafted. Noble vegetal background that characterizes this noble austerity. Remarkable length and creaminess. Uncompromising style. Lovely wine.

About the estate:

The ambitious and consistent renovation of the vineyard and cellar decided by Jean-Jacques Parinet is now yielding the expected results. Progress has been rapid and production continues to dominate the appellation. He can rely on a talented team, including Édouard Parinet, their cellar master Brice Lafon, and their communications manager Morgane Chambriard. He is a key player for the appellation and the region, a formidable ambassador who creates value and image in France and around the world.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16,5/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

In Les Vérillats, the rose reveals its old-fashioned charms with a hint of graphite. Enveloped in a vinous flesh, it embodies the cold presence of the terroir. It will grow with grace.

About the estate:

Since its acquisition by the Parinet family in 2009, this vast estate has invested heavily in human resources in order to rejuvenate the Moulin-à-Vent, as Château des Jacques did in its day. In a modern Gamay style, with long and well-managed aging in wood, the numerous single-vineyard cuvées express the complexity and diversity of the soils. With 2016 came the estate's first white vines (4.5 hectares) in the Mâcon and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations under the name Roc des Boutires.

About wine:

The climate of Les Vérillats, with its shallow, acidic granite soil, is expressed in this cuvée with its floral, airy, and fragrant profile, whose tangy and fresh palate revives its springtime character.
