"What a wonderful definition of 'cru'!"
“While still slightly closed, Couvent des Thorins reveals hints of cornelian cherry, elderberry, and toasty notes. The palate is lively, with firm tannins that lend the wine its vibrancy. A truly fine expression of the vintage. It should age well for many years.” (Le Guide RVF 2023)

About the estate:
The ambitious and well-coordinated renovation of the vineyard and winery spearheaded by Jean-Jacques Parinet is now yielding the expected results. Progress has been remarkable, and the estate continues to lead the appellation. He can rely on a talented team, including Édouard Parinet, their cellar master Brice Lafon, and their communications manager Morgane Chambriard. A key player for the appellation and the region, he is a formidable ambassador who builds value and enhances the region’s image both in France and around the world.

Rated Winery (2023 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these wineries)
About the wine:
While still slightly closed, Couvent des Thorins reveals hints of sour cherry, elderberry, and toasty notes. The palate is lively, with firm tannins that lend the wine energy. A truly fine expression of the vintage. It has excellent aging potential.
About the estate:
Since its acquisition by the Parinet family in 2009, this vast estate has invested significant human resources to revitalize the Moulin-à-Vent appellation, much as Château des Jacques did in its day. In a modern Gamay style, with long, carefully managed aging in oak, the estate’s numerous single-vineyard wines express the complexity and diversity of the soils. The 2016 vintage marked the debut of the estate’s first white vineyards (4.5 hectares) in the Mâcon and Pouilly-Fuissé appellations under the name Roc des Boutires.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
The Château de Moulin-à-Vent is a flagship wine of the appellation. This estate wine is powerful and dense. The acidity and black fruit flavors are still vibrant and will soften over time. Its concentration and structure promise excellent aging potential. Best enjoyed starting in 2025.
