"Fascinatingly pure and bursting with energy, it should drink beautifully for over 15 years! ~ Jeff Leve "
"Reserved yet subtle and nuanced, this full-bodied white is slowly coming into its own, already displaying excellent staying power and great coherence. It has remarkable staying power and the complementarity of Sauvignon and Semillon is exemplary. Varietality is not its aim, nor is exuberance; on the contrary, it looks to the future". Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
This cru classé is a model of family ownership, with all the Kressmann children showing an almost filial attachment to their estate and very sound management. The reds have gained in tannin finesse and textural elegance. The wines are classic, with the emphasis on fruit, tannin quality and freshness. Under the guidance of the very talented and rigorous Valérie Vialard, the whites are irreproachable, precise, aromatic and perfectly lively.

About the wine:
Lively and tangy, very lively on the palate - direct and concentrated, with lemony aromas lifted by a touch of oak on the finish, which slightly attenuates the freshness and ease of drinking, but adds long-term complexity. 2023-2028
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
While many of the great names of the Bordeaux wine trade have chosen to establish themselves in the Médoc, the Kressmanns have opted for the Graves and this cru, acquired in 1930, which owes its name to a tower adorning its courtyard, a vestige of a château built in the 12th century by ancestors of Montesquieu. This beautiful 50-hectare estate is renowned for both its white and red wines.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Reserved yet subtle and nuanced, this full-bodied white is slowly coming into its own, already displaying excellent staying power and great coherence. It has remarkable staying power, and the complementarity of Sauvignon and Semillon is exemplary. Varietality is not its aim, nor is exuberance; on the contrary, it looks to the future.
About the domain :
This is a fine example of a family estate, still in the hands of the Kressmanns, a historic family of Bordeaux merchants. Today, Tristan and Loïc Kressmann are at the helm of this well-situated cru classé on the Martillac plateau. The different generations have respected the heritage handed down, while making progress in vineyard management and vinification with their cellar master, Valérie Vialard. The château inaugurated a new vinification cellar for red wines with the 2019 vintage. Without yielding to the siren calls of passing fashions, the wines have retained their elegant, precise style, but are gaining in density. This convincing balance between tradition and modernity, together with the particularly distinguished character of recent vintages, leads us to award Latour-Martillac a second star.

About the wine:
Aromas of white fruit and toast are enhanced by spicy notes and sliced apple from a hot, dry year. Ripe, with a hint of honey contrasting with citrus acidity, this is a classic Cru Classé. Drink from 2026. - Roger Voss

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
Precise, attractive, mineral nose, subtly perfumed with crème fraîche, guavas, sliced apples and some green currants. Lively and textured, with medium to full body and a long, slightly phenolic finish. An exceptional wine. For drinking or cellaring.
