Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion

Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion
Patrice Pichet acquired the Les Carmes Haut-Brion estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation at the end of 2010. The investment was, of course, a challenge, but it also served an authentic passion for wine, which held great promise.

Before becoming the owner of the estate, Patrice Pichet was an admiring neighbor. For years, he regularly walked along its perimeter before meeting the Chantecaille family in the early 2000s. He then discovered Les Carmes: the instant charm of the place worked its magic. The idea of buying a vineyard was not new, but it had just become obvious.

Keen to bring the property to its full potential, Patrice Pichet embarked on a process of deep reflection to reveal the potential of the Les Carmes Haut-Brion estate. But it was not simply a question of providing new infrastructure: it was more a case of rethinking the vineyard and the culture of wine as a whole. The program was ambitious but had a single objective: to give the terroir the attention it deserved.
