"This wine is magnificently realized in every respect. Impressive! ~ Vinous "
"Grand Corbin-Despagne's bouquet emerges with subtlety and complexity. It has no particular focus, apart from its ability to reveal many facets, from fruity to spicy and mineral notes. The wine is endowed with fleshy tannins, an incisive structure and a roving fruity expression, from the attack to the finish. A wine unafraid to show its temperament, respectively its tension, ideally packed by the finesse and softness of Merlot. The finish is juicy, fruity and persistent. What a great success" (Yves Beck 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94-95/100
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Château Grand Corbin-Despagne is certainly the best value for money in Saint-Émilion, with its 29 hectares situated on a terroir dominated by sand. Owner Francois Despagne has worked tirelessly to achieve this result, with an organic commitment that contributes to the cru's success. This Saint-Émilion reconciles vigor, silkiness, aromatic distinction and superb evolution over time. A tasting from 2016 to 1947 enabled us to perfectly define the style of the cru, which possesses a finesse and harmony superior to many "modern" style crus classés. As it evolves, it can resemble a great Pomerol over several vintages.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
Aged in barrels and partially in amphorae (5%), this complex, long, dense wine offers a very fine interpretation of the appellation. We particularly appreciate its open red fruit, delicate spiciness and clean, flavorful mouthfeel, with silky tannins and freshness. A classic of the sector to (re)discover. 2027-2037
About the domain :
In 2019, the great wine has breath and energy, which respond to the clays. Great ageing awaits. More about tension, touch, a hint of licorice and peppery tannins, the 2018 isn't quite there yet, but bodes well for the future. The 2015, with its bloody juice, develops a richness of straightforward, powerful tannins with stylish uprightness.

Impressive. 2028-2050

The wines evoke red fruits and flowers, with intense, complex aromas, then evolving towards more spices. Finesse and smoothness characterize the palate. Velvety tannins.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2021 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
The usual elegance of Grand-Corbin Despagne is found in this vintage, with a more concentrated profile, full, ripe black fruit, peppery notes and a heady floral register. Finely chiseled and very greedy. Fresh finish.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2021 guide) 96/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is fruity, gourmand, nicely defined and offers purity of fruit, a certain light intensity, pretty pulpy/juicy fruit as well as complexity, depth and a certain power. There are notes of bright blueberry, violet and, more lightly, bright strawberry, combined with hints of crushed blackcurrant, juicy blackberry, lily, zan, blueberry and hints of cuben pepper, vanilla and ripe almond. The palate is fruity, elegant and fresh, offering power (with delicacy), concentration (with finesse), fine grain, structure, depth, a little multi-layering, good volume, precision, fine tension and richness (with mastery). On the palate, this wine expresses notes of bursting wild blackcurrant, pulpy blueberry and, more slightly, juicy plum, combined with touches of black berries, blueberry, strawberry, strawberry blossom, hints of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, blond tobacco, mocha and very discreet hints of graphite (in the background). Good length. The tannins are precise, well-managed, elegant, racy and offer a certain mellowness. A beautifully gourmand wine! Congratulations
