About the estate:
A magnificent Chartreuse overlooking the river, Beau-Site boasts one of the most beautiful panoramic views in the northern part of the appellation. It is owned by Philippe Castéja, who also owns the Châteaux Batailley and Trottevieille. The estate produces an elegant, refined wine that is always full-bodied without lacking finesse or elegance. The estate has reached a new milestone.

The color is a deep purple; the initial impression is distinctly austere, but it is accompanied by concentrated blackcurrant fruit and a solid tannic structure. The appellation’s signature character is clearly present, with a hint of bitterness on the finish that is reminiscent of coffee grounds. 2024–2038

There’s plenty of spice here, with nutmeg and cloves complementing the red currants and berries. Medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a smooth finish. A solid young red wine from this estate. Best after 2025 and beyond.

Part of the Castéja family estate, this vineyard is ideally situated on a hilltop adjacent to Calon-Ségur. It perfectly embodies the appellation’s character with its notes of graphite, licorice, and black fruits. On the palate, it’s surprisingly round, with velvety tannins and a rich texture. The Merlot-Cabernet blend is beautifully integrated, and the 3% Petit Verdot adds a lively touch. Definitely a great value.
