"One of the best deals in the appellation, combining elegance and character!"
“Spicy with fresh herbs, forest leaves, and Asian spices that complement the blackcurrant and blackberry. There is plenty of freshness in the ripe fruit, good concentration, and a lovely hint of cocoa, as well as a firm touch of tannins that will allow the wine to age and evolve. This is clearly the best Beau-Site vintage ever produced! ” (Jeff Leve 2022).

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 92/100
Rated estate (2021 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the wine:
Elegant, with well-defined tannins, light on the palate, notes of red berries, and a lovely, lingering finish. A captivating balance.
About the estate:
A magnificent Chartreuse estate overlooking the river, Beau-Site boasts one of the most beautiful views in the northern part of the appellation. It is owned by Philippe Castéja, who also owns the Châteaux Batailley and Trottevieille. The estate produces an elegant, distinguished wine that is always full-bodied without lacking finesse or elegance. The estate has reached a new milestone.
Decanter
Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
The color is a deep purple; the initial impression is distinctly austere, but it is accompanied by concentrated blackcurrant fruit and a solid tannic structure. The appellation’s signature character is clearly present, with a hint of bitterness on the finish that is reminiscent of coffee grounds. 2024–2038
James Suckling
Wine rated (2022 guide) 94/100
Rated: Recommended
About the wine:
There’s plenty of spice here, with nutmeg and cloves complementing the red currants and berries. Medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a smooth finish. A solid young red wine from this estate. Best after 2025 and beyond.

Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
Part of the Castéja family estate, this vineyard is ideally situated on a ridge adjacent to Calon-Ségur. It perfectly embodies the appellation’s character with its notes of graphite, licorice, and black fruits. On the palate, it’s surprisingly round, with velvety tannins and a delicious texture. The Merlot-Cabernet blend is beautifully integrated, and the 3% Petit Verdot adds a lively touch. Definitely a great value.

Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing
Wine rated (2020 guide) 90-92/100
About the wine:
The 2019 Beau-Site bouquet offers notes of blueberry, blackberry, and blackcurrant with subtle hints of spice and graphite. On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone, with well-integrated tannins, a moderately dense structure, and a spicy, mineral finish. The tannins are structuring and long-lasting.

Medium-deep to deep cherry-red color with an orange rim. Nose: sultry, ripe red and dark fruit, cherries, plums, iron, blood, and spice. Complex aromas. On the palate, those sultry, ripe fruit notes are echoed, along with plum compote, fine-grained tannins, structure, grip, and some dark notes for balance. In a blind tasting, I wouldn’t have immediately identified this wine as a Bordeaux! Score: 16/20

I opened a bottle in 2024 and it still seemed a bit closed to me... but the one I opened last Friday was perfect, so I'm going to order some more (a wine at 13.5% with a perfect palate and finish).
