"An excellent wine, the 2011 Gloria continues the success of this well-known estate. Delicious with red and black fruit, spice box, and a silky texture, this medium-bodied wine is undeniably a sure bet for the vintage. Its round tannins, fruitiness, and character will allow it to be enjoyed over the next 7 to 8 years." Wine rated (2013 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

Well-defined fruit, fairly comfortable texture, a wine with character, harmonious, supple enough for enjoyable consumption within 5 to 6 years.

About the estate:

Superbly located in the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and surrounded by noble peers, Château Gloria now belongs to Jean-Louis Triaud and his wife, the daughter of Henri Martin, its "creator" (as is Château Saint-Pierre). This property has now completely regained its full potential. Gloria wines have pure fruit and a supple structure, with very fine tannins. They are great classics of the appellation.

Wine rating (2015 guide) 2 stars (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

A beautiful wine for aging, true to the spirit of the appellation, this Saint-Julien reveals a harmonious, fresh, and fruity bouquet, supported by discreetly spicy oak. Supple and lively on the attack, the palate is full-bodied, rich, and powerful without harshness, supported by smooth tannins and well-integrated oak. A perfectly balanced wine, built for aging.

About the estate:

This vineyard, which now covers 50 hectares, was created from scratch in 1942 by one of the great figures of the wine industry, Henri Martin, who for years bought plots of land from grands crus classés in the center of Beychevelle, as well as to the west and north of the appellation. His daughter Françoise and her husband Jean-Louis Triaud, who managed Gloria and all of the Martin estates, handed over control of their properties to their son Jean in 2016.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

The 2011, with its smooth tannins, is opening up nicely today.

About the estate:

Patiently built up, plot by plot, in the second half of the 20th century by Henri Martin, Gloria is one of the strongest brands among the Médoc's unclassified wines. This reputation is well deserved, as evidenced by the latest vintages. Always very complete, colorful, and concentrated, the wine has rarely been faulted in the last decade. It ages harmoniously, but the most impatient enthusiasts can enjoy it from the age of five years.
