"An excellent wine, the 2011 Gloria continues the success of this well-known estate. Delightful notes of red and black fruits and a spice box, with a silky texture and a medium-bodied style, it is undeniably a standout of the vintage. Its round tannins, fruitiness, and character will allow it to be enjoyed over the next 7 to 8 years.” (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker) Delivered in a wooden case for any order of 6 magnums of this wine

Wine rated (2013 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the wine:

Distinct fruit flavors, a rather smooth texture, a wine with character, harmonious, and supple enough to enjoy within the next 5 to 6 years.

About the estate:

Superbly situated in the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and surrounded by noble peers, Château Gloria is now owned by Jean-Louis Triaud and his wife, the daughter of Henri Martin, its “founder” (just like Château Saint-Pierre). This estate has now fully regained its former glory. Gloria’s wines feature pure fruit and a supple structure, with exceptionally refined tannins. They are true classics of the appellation.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine rated (2015 guide) 2** stars (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

A superb wine with excellent aging potential, true to the spirit of the appellation, this Saint-Julien reveals a harmonious, fresh, and fruity bouquet, underpinned by subtly spicy oak. Supple and lively on the palate, it is full-bodied, rich, and powerful without any harshness, supported by smooth tannins and well-integrated oak. A perfectly balanced wine, built for aging.

About the estate:

This estate, which today spans 50 hectares, was built from the ground up starting in 1942 by one of the region’s leading figures, Henri Martin, who for years acquired plots from Grand Cru Classé vineyards in the heart of Beychevelle, as well as to the west and north of the appellation. His daughter Françoise and her husband Jean-Louis Triaud, who managed Gloria and the entire Domaines Martin estate, handed over control of their properties to their son Jean in 2016.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

The 2011, with its smooth tannins, is opening up nicely now.

About the estate:

Patiently assembled, plot by plot, in the second half of the 20th century by Henri Martin, Gloria is one of the leading unclassified wines of the Médoc. This reputation is well-deserved, as evidenced by the latest vintages. Always full-bodied, colorful, and concentrated, the wine has rarely disappointed over the past decade. It ages harmoniously, but those in a hurry can enjoy it as early as five years after bottling.
