"A wonderful wine, full of charm and noble tannins. Store it in your cellar with confidence! ~ La RVF"

"Gloria 2020 is another Saint-Julien with a decidedly retrograde nose, but one with remarkable precision and superb minerality. It is simply tight at the moment. Very harmonious, the palate is medium-bodied and satiny, with savory black fruits and an early finish, but beautifully controlled and persistent. Exceptional. (Vinous 2024) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2021 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Superbly located in the commune of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle and surrounded by noble peers, Château Gloria now belongs to Jean-Louis Triaud and his wife, the daughter of Henri Martin, its "creator" (as is Château Saint-Pierre). This property has now completely regained its full potential. Gloria wines have pure fruit and a supple structure, with very fine tannins. They are great classics of the appellation.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2023 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Aromas of tobacco, dark chocolate, and fragrant flowers—a magnificent aromatic bouquet. Ripe, concentrated fruit, yet with clarity and precision, accompanied by savory notes of coffee, cola, and creamy blackcurrant. The tannins are rich and biting, edged with licorice and a salty minerality that gives this wine the typical character of Saint-Julien. Charming, energetic, and balanced. 2030-2050

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

This vineyard, which now covers 50 hectares, was created from scratch in 1942 by one of the great figures of the wine industry, Henri Martin, who for years bought plots of land from grands crus classés in the center of Beychevelle, as well as to the west and north of the appellation. His daughter Françoise and her husband Jean-Louis Triaud, who managed Gloria and all of the Martin estates, handed over control of their properties to their son Jean in 2016.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

After a very charming and elegant 2019, the 2020 is a little denser and even more precise and impressive in its balance. An admirable wine, full of charm and noble tannins. To be cellared with confidence.

About the estate:

Patiently built up, plot by plot, in the second half of the 20th century by Henri Martin, Gloria is one of the strongest brands among the Médoc's unclassified wines. This reputation is well deserved, as evidenced by the latest vintages. Always very complete, colorful, and concentrated, the wine has rarely been faulted in the last decade. It ages harmoniously, but the most impatient enthusiasts can enjoy it from the age of five years.
