“His potential is clear, and his integrity is admirable. Highly recommended!”
“The 2020 Talbot is just as impressive as it was in barrel. The Cabernet Sauvignon’s bold character comes through first in the bouquet, then on the palate, which is rich and expressive with notes of black cherry and plum. A powerful and imposing Saint-Julien, the 2020 Talbot is fabulous. I love the wine’s overall depth and intensity, but there is just as much concentration to maintain balance. The 2020 is superb, certainly the best in recent memory.” (Vinous 2022) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2021 guide) 96-97/100
Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
This estate, one of the most deservedly popular in the Médoc, is still owned by the Cordier family. It produces a substantial volume of wine, which has gained in character and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal Saint-Julien: generously aromatic, very consistent, and reliable for aging. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and lively, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent winemaking, guided by Stéphane Derenoncourt in a skillfully modernized fermentation room and cellar, is bearing fruit.
Decanter
Wine rated (2021 guide) 95/100
About the wine:
This is a great Talbot, a true triumph for the château. Subtle and skillful nuances are present throughout the tasting, from the notes of smoky turmeric that weave their way through the dark fruit to the refined aromas that accompany the wine’s body. Balanced and fresh, with an extremely delicious, briny finish. Jean-Michel Laporte has been at the helm of this wine for three years now, and he is doing an excellent job. 2026–2040
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (2024 guide) 3*Top Pick (Exceptional Wine)
About the wine:
A great Talbot, with exceptional precision and incredible energy. The color is dark, intense, and clean. The nose, in perfect harmony, reveals deep and complex aromas of coffee, pepper, crushed strawberries, cherries, and even tobacco. But it is on the palate that the wine truly shines, with exceptional class: a full-bodied, round, fleshy, and juicy palate, incredibly seductive thanks to the silky, delicate texture of its tannins and its great freshness, which carries the finish far, very far. Irresistible, and for a long time to come. 2028–2040

About the wine:
The wine is well-structured, with plenty of depth, though there is a slight hint of oak at this stage. Nothing dramatic, but it will settle in and come together. Its potential is clear, and its integrity is admirable.

This distinguished estate, rightly prized by wine lovers, has made a strong comeback, now producing the wines we have come to expect from it. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and expertly managed, Nancy Bignon-Cordier’s vast estate—led by Jean-Michel Laporte—is reclaiming the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. About the wine:
Exuberant, with generous notes of plum sauce, licorice root, blackberry compote, and applewood vying for attention, while hints of graphite and cast iron linger in the background. It reveals a subtle hint of exotic toast that enhances the finish. Best enjoyed between 2030 and 2040. Highly recommended.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
The nose greets you with confidence, offering lovely aromas of coffee, fresh red berries, and violets, with a hint of dahlia. This is an exceptional Talbot, with a taffeta-like texture, rich notes of dark chocolate, and a salty edge, along with such length and body that it could almost be a meal in itself! 2028–2048
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2021 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
The 2020 Talbot gains momentum with concentrated, well-defined fruit, crispness, and liveliness. With its well-defined body, the wine stays firmly on track, moving in a straight line toward its finish and length, supported by a beautiful tannic structure and ending with a lovely freshness. It is crisp and dynamic.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2022 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
Talbot 2020 unfolds in a crescendo, highlighting just how beneficial aeration is for a young wine. It begins by revealing roasted notes, quickly giving way to aromas of blackcurrant and eucalyptus, followed by classic notes of cedar and graphite. These last two elements reflect the terroir, which makes its presence felt. A beautiful complexity on the palate, where the wine displays smoothness, power, and energy. Its dense, fine-grained tannins follow a slight sweetness on the attack. Thanks to the character of its structuring acidity, the wine shines with freshness and persistence. Add to that its depth and precision, and everything comes together to highlight the greatness of Château Talbot 2020! An exciting, brilliant, and compelling wine! 2027–2047
