Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
Great cedar nose, broad texture, we really enjoyed this perfect sample with the special harmony typical of the best Saint-Julien wines.
About the domain :
One of the Médoc's most justly popular estates, it is still owned by the Cordier family. It gives rise to an abundant production, which has gained in definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal saint-julien, generously bouqueted, very stable and sure to age. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and nervous, continues to be produced under the caillou-blanc brand. The intelligent work carried out with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt in a skilfully modernized vat room and cellar is bearing fruit.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 97/100
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
The absolute Talbot? Without a doubt, so much so that the wine confirms its exceptional dispositions, the beauty and balance of its palate, with a spicy finish. A wine entirely in the style that has made this reliable and accessible brand so successful.
About the domain :
This strong brand, rightly appreciated by connoisseurs, has made a strong comeback, now making the wines we've come to expect from it. Equipped with modern, high-performance equipment and skilfully managed, Nancy Bignon-Cordier's vast vineyard, managed by Jean-Michel Laporte, is returning to the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. A flamboyant wine, archetypal of the great classic Saint Julien.

James Suckling
Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
Aromas of cassis and dried flowers, combined with fresh herbs such as basil and rosemary, are extremely seductive. Medium to full-bodied, with firm, velvety tannins and a tension and concentration I haven't seen in a long time. Long, mellow finish. Solid. Drink after 2028 and beyond.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2023 guide) 95-96/100
About the wine:
A certain concentration is immediately apparent, with a dense, tubular mouthfeel that unfolds with class. The flesh is muscular, everything is well blended, the aromas are subtle (blackcurrant, elderflower), the tannins are firm but not clinging. A very serious Talbot that could become a classic over time.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2024 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
Talbot's bouquet reveals itself step by step. It starts with a little reduction before revealing nuances of dark berries, cedar and graphite. With a little air, it also displays spicy nuances and a refreshing touch of eucalyptus. With good density, the wine stands out for its subtle power, harmony and perfectly integrated tannins. A fine austerity ensures freshness and enhances the aromatic expression on the finish. A great Talbot success! 2029-2052
