“It embraces its playful, indulgent side—a delicious wine, ready to drink and bursting with round, vibrant fruit. ~ La RVF”

“Fruity and full-bodied, the bouquet of Connétable Talbot displays depth and precision. This precision is also evident on the palate and serves as a unifying thread. The creamy, velvety tannins provide excellent structure and ensure both depth and freshness. A flavorful wine that can be enjoyed even when young.” (Yves Beck 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

This estate, one of the most deservedly popular in the Médoc, is still owned by the Cordier family. It produces a substantial volume of wine, which has gained in character and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal Saint-Julien: generously aromatic, very consistent, and reliable for aging. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and lively, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent winemaking, guided by Stéphane Derenoncourt in a skillfully modernized fermentation room and cellar, is bearing fruit.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

Bright strawberries and fresh cherries: this wine bursts on the palate with aromas of freshly picked summer berries and a high, almost citrus-like acidity that gives it its vibrant character. It’s all about energy and liveliness, rather than power and strength. A truly pleasant and easy-drinking wine, with well-integrated tannins and lovely salty notes in the background. I also appreciate its hints of fresh mint. 2026–2040

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is refined, mineral, and juicy. It reveals notes of fresh, vibrant cherry, plump purple plum, and, more subtly, cherry blossom, combined with hints of pepper and rose, as well as subtle notes of fresh blond tobacco and star anise. The palate is fruity, juicy, and smooth, with a mineral and tangy structure, offering richness, vibrancy, and indulgence, along with a lovely silkiness and purity of fruit. It expresses notes of bright cherry, juicy blackcurrant, and, more subtly, vibrant raspberry, combined with hints of star anise, cherry blossom, as well as hints of licorice and chocolate. Good length, with a hint of chocolate. The tannins are fresh and flavorful.
