"Talbot offers a particularly appealing interpretation of this vintage. A generous and approachable style! ~ La RVF"

“Freshness defines Talbot’s bouquet, with inviting notes of eucalyptus and aromas of black berries. Creamy on the palate, the wine stands out for its linear and precise character. It features powerful tannins and structuring acidity and will already be enjoyable in its youth, but it is clearly meant for aging as well! ” (Yves Beck 2026)

Rated estate (2022 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

This estate, one of the most deservedly popular in the Médoc, is still owned by the Cordier family. It produces a bountiful harvest, which has gained in character and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal Saint-Julien—generously aromatic, very stable, and reliable for aging. A lovely dry white wine—aromatic and lively—continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent winemaking approach, guided by Stéphane Derenoncourt in a skillfully modernized fermentation room and cellar, is paying off.

Rated Estate (2022 Guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

Talbot offers a particularly appealing interpretation of this vintage. Notes of black cherry and fresh fruit, with a dense, creamy palate supported by well-structured tannins. The fresh, lingering finish perfectly rounds out this generous and approachable style.

About the estate:

This strong brand, rightly appreciated by wine lovers, has made a strong comeback and is now producing the wines we’ve come to expect from it. Equipped with high-performance, modern facilities that are skillfully managed, Nancy Bignon-Cordier’s vast estate—led by Jean-Michel Laporte—is recapturing the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. A flamboyant wine, the archetype of the great classic Saint-Julien.
