Notes: Wine Spectator 89–92/100
Connétable is a robust wine that perfectly reflects its appellation, with notes of plum combined with bold tannins. The subtle woody undertones on the palate add to the wine’s complexity, as do the peppery and spicy notes, resulting in remarkable harmony. A great Saint-Julien! • Delivered in a wooden case for orders of 12 bottles of this wine shipped within France •

Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

This estate, among the most deservedly popular in the Médoc, still belongs to the Cordier family. It produces a substantial output, which has gained in definition and vigor since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal of Saint-Julien: generously aromatic, remarkably stable, and reliable with age. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and vibrant, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent work carried out with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt in a skillfully modernized winery and cellar is bearing fruit.
