The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
"Phenomenal, according to James Suckling, and extraordinary, according to Yves Beck!"
“With its sparkling golden hue, this First Growth offers a bouquet that is already well-defined, combining all the qualities of a great Sauternes wine. Its sumptuous aromas of candied orange and mirabelle plum jam are underscored by subtle, refined oak notes. After a vibrant attack, with mineral notes and surprising aromas of candied chestnuts, the palate impresses with its richness and finesse; it blends opulence with elegance, unfolding notes of candied quince, orange, and melon. A very well-rounded wine, with a confident classic style, whose concentration ensures a promising aging potential. ” (Favorite Hachette Wine Guide – 2017 Edition) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and selected shipping method)

Palate
This wine reflects the duality of the vintage with a rich attack, a smooth, velvety body, and a very indulgent palate featuring flavors of pineapple, star fruit, and milk caramel. The structure then takes over, leading to a fresh finish with notes of mandarin and white pepper.

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 98/100
Rated estate (2020 guide): 5*Stars (Exceptional producers who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the wine:
Close to the perfection of the Preignac style, which combines a slightly fresher fruitiness reminiscent of the great Barsacs with the opulence of the Haut-Bommes. Best enjoyed between 2023 and 2043.
About the estate:
The estate now produces the truly great wines that its terroir allows, with perfect consistency and a complex yet carefully considered range of first and second wines, as well as two remarkable dry wines. It’s hard to choose between the sweet second wines—Lion, which is a bit more modern and exuberant, and the more classic Castelnau—because both are made without compromise, featuring a lovely roasted character from the grapes. Among the dry wines, S has a bit more density than the standard dry wine. Only Yquem manages to do just a tiny bit better, especially when it comes to aging.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2020 guide): 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
This vast estate was acquired in 1992 by AXA Millésimes. Thanks to its geographically well-distributed vineyards, Suduiraut combines the power of Haut-Sauternais wines with the prestigious fruitiness found in the wines of the Preignac and Barsac plateaus. The result is a well-rounded wine that ages very slowly and, in great vintages, borders on genius. The most recent vintages have reached an exceptionally high standard.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2016 guide) 97/100
About the wine:
This wine is phenomenal, with superb depth and texture. It is full-bodied and very smooth, but the lively acidity balances the wine. Creamy on the palate with phenolic nuances. Excellent finish. This wine has a bright future ahead of it. It will be even better in 2021, but it’s already excellent.
Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (2014 guide) 98/100
About the wine:
Straw-colored with a lovely honey-colored nose. The palate is supple and round, a bit soft, but with excellent body and a lovely complexity on the finish. Best enjoyed between 2017 and 2034.
Yves Beck
Wine rated (2024 guide) 99/100
About the wine:
Brilliant as ever! And this is just the beginning! This 2013 shines with complexity and diversity. It stands out by creating an exceptional balance between subtlety and richness, between finesse and fullness. Smooth and creamy, the wine is above all fresh, harmonious, and carried by an acidity that will accompany it throughout its long life. And it is a long one. An extraordinary wine! 2028–2070
