"After Yquem, this is THE great success of the vintage. A powerful and spirited Sauternes not to be missed! ~ La RVF"

Château Suduiraut 2017 is composed of 94% Sémillon and 6% Sauvignon Blanc. It displays botrytized notes of citrus honey, orange blossom, white flowers, and caramelized peach. These notes give rise to a full-bodied Sauternes, beautifully pure and precise, with good acidity, perfect balance, and fabulous fruit purity. It is an exceptional Sauternes. (Jeb Dunnuck 2020) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2020 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About the estate:

The estate now produces the very fine wines that its terroir allows, with perfect consistency and a complex but perfectly thought-out range of grand and second wines and two remarkable dry wines. It is difficult to choose between the sweet second wines, Lion, which is slightly more modern and exuberant, and Castelnau, which is more classic, as both are made without compromise, with a lovely roasted grape flavor. Among the dry wines, S has a little more density than the simple dry wine. Only Yquem does slightly better, especially in terms of aging.

Wine rating (2021 guide) 99/100 Favorite

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

After Yquem, this is the great success of the vintage: a powerful, spirited Sauternes with a liqueur of great purity, which envelops the strength of the Preignac terroir. Not to be missed.

About the estate:

This vast estate was purchased in 1992 by AXA Millésimes. Thanks to its geographically well-distributed vineyards, Suduiraut combines the power of Haut-Sauternais wines with the prestigious fruitiness found in the wines of the Preignac and Barsac plateaus. The result is a complete nectar, very slow to age, which, in great years, borders on genius. The latest vintages have reached a very high level.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 97/100

About wine:

Just as impressive as it was in the barrel, Suduiraut 2017 is simply dazzling. Pineapple, orange peel, crème brûlée, white flowers, honey, apricot, and hazelnut are just some of the many nuances that develop in the glass. Rich and heady, but also wonderfully vibrant, the 2017 is shaping up to be a breathtaking Suduiraut. The 140 grams of residual sugar are very well integrated. Only fruit from the last two harvests has been included in the Grand Vin. 2025-2047

About wine:

Yum! Aromas of orange blossom, lemon cream, dried apricot, and cooked pear fill the glass. Full-bodied and very smooth, yet tangy and lively thanks to its vibrant acidity. Extremely long finish. Best in 2025, but already a real pleasure to drink.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 99/100

About wine:

What complexity in this bouquet! It is obviously young and intense, but also complex. I detect notes of nougat and caramel, as well as pleasant fruity notes with hints of apricot and peach. Finally, nuances of peppermint underscore the freshness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, racy, smooth, and lively. A wine with character that will age well for several decades and will require patience. An authentic Sauternes! 2027-2070
