"After Yquem, this is THE great success of the vintage. A powerful, spirited Sauternes not to be missed! ~ La RVF "

"Château Suduiraut 2017 is 94% Semillon and 6% Sauvignon Blanc. It presents botrytized notes of citrus honey, orange blossom, white flowers and caramelized peach. The result is a full-bodied, beautifully pure and precise Sauternes with good acidity, perfect balance and fabulous purity of fruit. This is an exceptional Sauternes." Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 5*Stars (Outstanding producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and the world)

About the domain :

The estate now produces the great wines that its terroir allows, with perfect regularity and a complex but perfectly thought-out range of grand and second wines and two remarkable dry wines. It's hard to choose between the slightly more modern and exuberant Lion and the more classic Castelnau among the sweet second wines, as both are made without concession, with a lovely roasting of the grapes. In dry form, S has a little more density than the simple sec. Only Yquem can do a little better, especially when it comes to ageing.

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the wine:

After Yquem, this is the great success of the vintage: a powerful, spirited Sauternes with a liqueur of great purity, enveloping the strength of the Preignac terroir. Not to be missed.

About the domain :

This vast estate was bought by AXA Millésimes in 1992. Thanks to a geographically well-distributed vineyard, Suduiraut combines the power of Haut-Sauternais wines with the prestigious fruitiness found in the crus of the Preignac and Barsac plateaus. The result is a full-bodied nectar that ages very slowly, but which, in great years, approaches genius. Recent vintages have reached a very high level.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 97/100

About the wine:

Just as impressive as it was in barrel, Suduiraut 2017 is simply dazzling. Pineapple, orange peel, crème brûlée, white flowers, honey, apricot and hazelnut are just some of the many nuances that develop in the glass. Rich and heady, yet wonderfully vibrant, the 2017 is shaping up to be a stunning Suduiraut. The 140 grams of residual sugar are very well integrated. Only fruit from the last two harvests has been incorporated into the Grand Vin. 2025-2047

About the wine:

Yummy! Aromas of orange blossom, lemon curd, dried apricot and cooked pear fill the glass. Full-bodied and very sweet, yet tangy and lively thanks to its vibrant acidity. Extremely long finish. Best in 2025, but already a real pleasure to taste.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 99/100

About the wine:

What complexity in this bouquet! It's obviously young, intense but also complex. I note hints of nougat and caramel, but also pleasant fruity notes of apricot and peach. Finally, hints of peppermint underline the freshness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, racy, suave and lively. A wine with character that will stand the test of a few decades, but that you'll have to wait for. An authentic Sauternes! 2027-2070
