“After Yquem, this is THE standout success of the vintage. A powerful, spirited Sauternes not to be missed! ~ La RVF”

“Château Suduiraut 2017 is composed of 94% Sémillon and 6% Sauvignon Blanc. It features botrytized notes of citrus honey, orange blossom, white flowers, and caramelized peach. These notes give rise to a full-bodied Sauternes that is beautifully pure and precise, with good acidity, perfect balance, and fabulous fruit purity. It is an exceptional Sauternes. ” (Jeb Dunnuck 2020) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Rated estate (2020 guide) 5*Stars (Exceptional producers, those who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)

About the estate:

The estate now produces the exceptional wines that its terroir allows, with consistent quality and a complex yet carefully curated range of first and second wines, as well as two remarkable dry wines. It’s hard to choose between the sweet second wines—Lion, which is a bit more modern and exuberant, and the more classic Castelnau—since both are made without compromise, featuring a lovely roasted character in the grapes. Among the dry wines, S has a bit more density than the standard dry wine. Only Yquem manages to do just a tiny bit better, especially when it comes to aging.

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

After Yquem comes the standout wine of the vintage: a powerful, spirited Sauternes with a wine of great purity that beautifully captures the character of the Preignac terroir. Not to be missed.

About the estate:

This vast estate was acquired in 1992 by AXA Millésimes. Thanks to its geographically diverse vineyards, Suduiraut combines the power of Haut-Sauternais wines with the prestigious fruitiness found in the wines of the Preignac and Barsac plateaus. The result is a complete nectar, very slow to age, and which, in great vintages, borders on genius. The latest vintages have reached a very high standard.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 97/100

About the wine:

Just as impressive as it was in the barrel, the 2017 Suduiraut is simply dazzling. Pineapple, orange zest, crème brûlée, white flowers, honey, apricot, and hazelnut are just a few of the many nuances that unfold in the glass. Rich and heady, yet wonderfully vibrant, the 2017 is shaping up to be a breathtaking Suduiraut. The 140 grams of residual sugar are beautifully integrated. Only the fruit from the last two harvests was included in the Grand Vin. 2025–2047

About the wine:

Yum! Aromas of orange blossom, lemon cream, dried apricot, and baked pear fill the glass. Full-bodied and very smooth, yet tangy and lively thanks to its vibrant acidity. Extremely long finish. Best in 2025, but already a real pleasure to drink.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 99/100

About the wine:

What a complex bouquet! It is clearly young and intense, yet also complex. I detect notes of nougat and caramel, as well as pleasant fruity notes with hints of apricot and peach. Finally, hints of peppermint add a touch of freshness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, elegant, smooth, and lively. A wine of character with the potential to age for several decades—one that deserves to be patiently awaited. An authentic Sauternes! 2027–2070
