“Made from 100% Sémillon, the purity is exceptional. Fantastic! ~ James Suckling”

“A superb bouquet marked by acacia blossoms and earthy notes, with a hint of radish and celery complemented by white pepper and candied citrus peel. Dense, smooth, and even briny on the palate, the wine shines with its energy, its fullness, and its ability to highlight subtle details within an exuberant profile. This is where it truly excels, like a weightlifter running a 10,000-meter race… with his barbells, but barefoot! It is tactile, powerful, fresh, and of rare persistence. A truly great Suduiraut that will delight its audience with its authenticity and its ability to showcase its incisive qualities. ” (Yves Beck 2026)

Rated (2020 Guide) 5*Stars (Exceptional producers who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)

About the estate:

The estate now produces the exceptional wines that its terroir allows, with consistent quality and a complex yet carefully curated range of first and second wines, as well as two remarkable dry wines. It’s hard to choose between the sweet second wines—Lion, which is a bit more modern and exuberant, and the more classic Castelnau—because both are made without compromise, with a lovely roasted character from the grapes. Among the dry wines, S has a bit more density than the standard dry. Only Yquem manages to do just a tiny bit better, especially when it comes to aging.

Rated estate (2020 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the wine:

This wine impresses with its intensity and fullness. The palate is both dense—with a textural richness rarely found in sweet Sauternes wines—and lingering. A proud wine that fills the entire mouth without becoming overpowering; on the contrary, it reveals magnificent notes of freshness on the finish.

About the estate:

This vast estate was acquired in 1992 by AXA Millésimes. Thanks to its geographically well-distributed vineyards, Suduiraut combines the power of Haut-Sauternais wines with the prestigious fruitiness found in the wines of the Preignac and Barsac plateaus. The result is a complete nectar, very slow to age, and which, in great vintages, borders on genius. The latest vintages have reached a very high standard.

About the wine:

The purity of this Suduiraut is exceptional; made from 100% Sémillon, it reveals aromas of dried pineapple, apricot, hazelnut, and spices. Medium-bodied, it offers a lovely smoothness while retaining a fresh, tannic texture that gives the wine structure. pH 3.65, 158 g/L residual sugar. Fantastic.

About the wine:

A highly concentrated wine of great purity. An intense golden color with subtle amber highlights. A rich nose evoking honey, dried apricots, peach jam, candied orange peel, and angelica, with notes of mild spices, cardamom, and vanilla. On the palate, aromas of tropical fruits and ripe pear, with notes of apricot in the background. An elegant spicy note, beautiful depth, and a long finish.
