15/20
Bettane & Desseauve
“La Grande Montagne has a more concentrated body, including an acidity that gives the wine a lovely length.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2016 - RVF) It is thanks to its steep, high-altitude, rocky terroir that this Premier Cru exhibits such beautiful mineral tension. It pairs wonderfully with gourmet dishes featuring fine fish or shellfish.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 15/20 (Very good wine)
Rated (2016 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable wine, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous vintage)
About the estate:
The estate traces its origins to René Lamy (Hubert’s son), who purchased land in Chassagne and Saint-Aubin. He thus established an estate that he passed on to his daughter Florence and his son-in-law Sébasien. The two have been running the estate independently for the past four to five vintages, while still heeding the advice of the previous generation.

About the estate:
René and Thérèse Lamy founded this estate in 1977; it is a trusted name in Chassagne and Saint-Aubin. Their daughters, Florence (in 1997) and Karine (in 2004), now manage the 15 hectares of vineyards alongside their respective husbands, Sébastien Caillat (in the vineyard) and Daniel Cadot (in sales).

About the wine:
La Grande Montagne has a more concentrated body, including acidity that gives the wine a lovely length.
About the estate:
A quintessential family-run estate, Domaine Lamy-Pillot cultivates 14.5 hectares across a series of beautiful plots in Chassagne-Montrachet. Now run by one of the daughters, Florence, and her husband Sébastien, an oenologist (they have also established a 2-hectare micro-winery on the side), the estate produces beautiful, crisp, clean, and modern white wines that demonstrate remarkable consistency. Karine, the eldest daughter, and her husband Daniel handle the distribution of the wines and market a selection of Burgundy estates.
