"Discover a confidential Fixin appellation cuvée, born of several clay terroirs, it magnificently lives up to its name!"

Even before tasting, Fixin Blanc d'Argiles 2022 can be described as an atypical and confidential cuvée in the Fixin appellation: only 6 hectares are planted with white wines, compared with 95 hectares for reds. The nose offers concentrated scents of citrus fruit, honeysuckle and acacia flowers. Ample and round, the palate unfurls with a velvety feel that counterbalances its pleasant, persistent freshness, extending into a lovely, vibrant finish.

3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)

About the domain :

Philippe Huguenot is a pragmatist. Certified organic since 2013, he initiated this approach to enable his vines to regain the good rusticity he was no longer finding. Mechanical harvesting has also been abandoned. The estate is forging ahead, and its wines are increasingly elegant, with a pleasant fruitiness that seduces from their earliest youth. The acceleration in quality has been spectacular over the last few vintages. A man of rare kindness, with wines that reflect his image, he likes to welcome his customers to the cellar when many have closed their doors in the face of commercial success. The quality here is particularly consistent.

About the domain :

Since 1790, ten generations have succeeded one another on this 21-hectare estate, renowned for its Marsannay, Gevrey and Fixin wines. Philippe Huguenot took over from his father Jean-Louis in 1996 and launched the organic conversion of his vineyard (certification in 2013).

Wine rated (2025 guide) 90/100

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the wine:

A little fuller-bodied, Fixin blanc is spicy, a little strict and austere.

About the domain :

Heir to ten generations of Marsannay winemakers, Jean-Louis Huguenot, who died in 2019, produced technically irreproachable wines for a long time. More discreet, his son Philippe and his wife Valérie have given their wines more personality, without compromising their fundamental qualities. The range as a whole includes precise, solid wines, which have been certified organic since 2019, but over-ageing diminishes the nuances of terroir expression with dry finishes. We hope that Philippe Huguenot, now fully in charge, will change this style. Major renovation work on the winery and buildings is currently underway.
