Domaine Huguenot
Domaine Huguenot has been a family-owned winery, passed down from father to son for 10 generations. Domaine Huguenot, now managed by Philippe Huguenot, spans 23 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, across the Marsannay, Fixin, and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations.
For more than 20 years now, Domaine Huguenot has recognized the importance of adopting more environmentally friendly farming practices. As a result, the work in the vineyards has evolved significantly over the years. To start with, no more pesticides or insecticides; instead, more plowing and year-round vineyard maintenance. 2013 will be Domaine Huguenot’s first vintage certified as “ Organic .”
After meticulous work in the vineyards, the winemaking process at Domaine Huguenot proceeds gently. All harvested grapes are systematically sorted on a sorting table, and the grapes are handled by gravity to keep the berries intact. All wines are aged in barrels for 8 to 18 months, depending on the appellation. A long aging period ensures the purity, complexity, and precision of the fruit.
