Domaine Bruno Clair - Morey Saint-Denis En la rue de Vergy 2009
Note: Robert Parker 90-92/100
"In 2009, the Morey Saint-Denis En la Rue de Vergy is beautifully precise, a linear wine. The fruit is precise and long on the mid-palate, while the finish reveals the most ethereal aspect of the wine. It is a touch firm, but very attractive. Expected maturity: 2014-2024." About the estate:
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2014 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
Bruno Clair crafts classic Burgundy wines that are young, lively, and sharp; they often only reveal their full potential after a few years of aging. They are immediately recognizable by their refined texture and beautiful persistence. The estate has showcased the terroirs of Marsannay as well as a fine series of Gevrey-Chambertin wines, including the magnificent Clos Saint-Jacques and the estate's flagship wine: the elegant and refined Chambertin Clos de Bèze. The whites, which are less well known, are just as remarkable. The estate is praised for its consistency."

A purple color, a very pleasant aroma of red berries. However, it has an acidic taste, no depth—in short, a flat wine. It's not good value for money.

Review and opinion by Mr. FRANCOIS V. Published on 09/06/2014
The Bruno Clair estate has been producing fine Burgundy wines for a very long time. This village wine, which is decent for its category, is a respectable success for the estate. There are clearly better wines out there, but they are much more expensive...
