Domaine du Roc des Boutires - En Bertilionne 2018
92/100
Robert Parker
“The 2018 Pouilly-Fuissé En Bertillonne blends notes of orange blossom and yellow apple with hints of beeswax and fresh pastry. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, silky and enveloping, it is a textured wine, elegantly robust and framed by brilliant acidity, ending with a penetrating finish.” (Wine Advocate 2020 - William Kelley) Sublime! Rated estate (2021 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
The Parinet family, owners of Château du Moulin-à-Vent, acquired this 4.2-hectare estate in the village of Pouilly in 2016. Management—from the vineyards to winemaking—has been entrusted to Brice Laffond, who is already in charge of their property in Beaujolais. Their vineyard consists mainly of old vines, cultivated using organic methods without certification. The first vintages suggest that this is one of the leading estates of the future, the emergence of a new and serious competitor in the Mâconnais. The 2017 vintages were featured in the previous edition of our guide alongside the wines of Château du Moulin-à-Vent. Vers Cras, Chailloux, and Bouthières will quite logically become future Premier Crus of Pouilly-Fuissé. The 2018 vintages continue the qualitative ascent of this young estate, beautifully showcasing their terroirs through well-suited aging processes.
