"Remarkable, exquisite, extraordinary, and wonderful—the critic Vinous is full of praise, and we couldn't agree more: a great Pouilly-Fuissé!"

The Pouilly-Fuissé En Bertilionne 1er Cru 2022 could well be the estate's most remarkable wine this year. It truly embodies everything one could wish for in a bottle of Pouilly-Fuissé. On the nose, it is more complex than the "Aux Chaillous," with exquisite definition, evoking images of cool alpine streams and dew-covered Granny Smith apples. The palate is extraordinarily deep and energetic, with formidable acidity, although not as sharp as that of "Aux Cailloux," but the peppery finish is more persistent. Wonderful. 2024-2042" (Vinous 2024)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

The Parinet family, owners of Château du Moulin-à-Vent, acquired this 4.2-hectare estate in the village of Pouilly in 2016. Management, from the vineyard to the winemaking, has been entrusted to Brice Laffond, who is already in charge of their property in Beaujolais. Their vineyard consists mainly of old vines, cultivated organically without certification. The first vintages suggest that this is one of the leading estates of tomorrow, the emergence of a new and serious competitor in the Mâconnais region. The 2017 vintages were featured in the previous edition of our guide alongside the wines of Château du Moulin-à-Vent. Vers Cras, Chailloux, and Bouthières will logically be among the future premier crus of Pouilly-Fuissé. The 2018 vintages continue the upward trend in quality at this young estate, beautifully illustrating their terroirs with well-adapted aging.
