Bourgogne Aujourd'hui
"From the sublime terroir of the Côte Chalonnaise, this velvety, particularly mineral Chardonnay is sure to please all lovers of this grape variety!
This mid-slope parcel is made up of three blocks of different ages: one part planted some 15 years ago, another 50 years old and the third over 80 years old. The result is a well-balanced, racy wine with magnificent length. "90-92 / Top quality/price" (Burghound 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Domaine Jaeger-Defaix covers 6 hectares in Rully, including 4.5 in premier cru, certified organic since 2012. Hélène Jaeger-Defaix, agricultural engineer and oenologist, wife of Didier Defaix (domaine Bernard Defaix de Chablis), is at the helm. Viticulture with ploughed soils and vinification that respects the harvest as much as possible, with the aim of letting the plots express themselves, are beginning to pay off. The 2017 vintage is in top form, with classic, fine wines.

About the wine:
Fresh aromas of ripe yellow fruit, sweet flowers and spices.... Gourmet mouthfeel, stylish, with "sweet" fruit, refined, and a beautiful, pure finish.

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine noté Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
In 2002, Hélène Jaeger first took over a parcel of Rully Premier Cru from her great-aunt Henriette Niépce - a descendant of the famous inventor - and then the entire estate in 2005. Wife of Bernard Defaix, winemaker in Chablis, she applies the principles of great wines, with tilled soils and manual harvesting. The cuvées are vinified at the fully-equipped Chablis winery; the white wines are transferred to barrel.
Burghound
Wine rated (2024 guide) 90-92/100
About the wine:
It is aromatically similar to Mont Palais, but with more petroleum and citrus notes. The medium-weight flavors are both finer and possess a more prominent minerality that carries through to the clean, dry, youthfully austere and slightly more persistent finish. Well worth discovering. 2028+ / Top Quality/Price
