Champagne André Robert
The Robert family has been cultivating vines on the Champagne estate of Mesnil sur Oger for five generations. The estate André Robert was taken over in 1981 by Bertrand Robert, who is now handing over the reins to his daughter Claire, supported by Jean-Baptiste Denizart.
The André Robert Champagne spans 14 hectares, the vast majority of which are classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. The three classic grape varieties are present in several communes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Le Mesnil sur Oger is an exceptional terroir, consisting of poor, chalky soil, classified as Grand Cru. The vineyard André Robert is divided into a mosaic of small plots, and the best plots are selected to produce a Champagne with a strong personality and finesse that expresses all the minerality of this unique terroir. The vineyard of André Robert Champagne is cultivated as small gardens, with respect for the soil and biodiversity, and certified HVE (High Environmental Value).
In the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Chardonnay remains the centerpiece of André Robert Champagne blends, 50% of which are vinified in small 228-liter barrels and aged on lees for eight months before bottling and aging on racks in chalk cellars for a minimum of three to six years.
