"Personality and style for this Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs champagne, which will work wonders at the table."
This cuvée reveals notes of crisp green apple, citrus oil, warm biscuits, yellow apple chips, and marzipan. Medium-bodied, slightly vinous, and enveloping, it is a straightforward, sharp champagne built around a backbone of racy acidity reminiscent of the nobility of the terroir from which it comes. Very classy!

About the estate:
It was in Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, that Hubert Robert (grandfather of the current owner) created the first group of winegrowers in the 1930s to press and vinify the fruit of their harvest together. In 1960, André Robert bought the current house, which has 19th-century chalk cellars. Chardonnay is the soul of the estate, with the wines being aged in barrels on lees with bâtonnage and late bottling. A collection of old vintages is available.

About wine:
The 2017 Terre de Mesnil Champagne is ripe and sunny, with notes of pineapple, pastry cream, and lime. Full-bodied, with an elegant, cushioned mousse, it offers burnt peaches, a silky mineral texture, and a long, fresh finish. Drink between 2025 and 2035.

Very nice nose, very nice bubbles, rich and smooth attack. Unfortunately, the finish is spoiled by an astringency that takes over. Not cheap either, unless you're only interested in the label...
