Gault & Millau
"We love many vintages at Gault & Millau, and this classic, pure and beautifully expressive 2013 is one of them. The nose is very beautiful, blending notes of chalk and citrus essences. On the palate, the bubbles are subtle and the wine is racy, taut and chalky, without ever becoming austere. It pairs well with seafood, scallops, and fine fish. A very fine Cramant."(Le Guide Des Vins Gault & Millau)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Located in Cramant, a renowned terroir for great Chardonnays, this 22-hectare family estate is now run by Jean-Étienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. These champagnes are perfect as aperitifs and are considered to be among the best in the industry. The brothers also manage Champagnes Paul Clouet, a sister company that has been part of the family vineyard since 1992. Some of the cuvées are aged in wood, and older vintages can be disgorged on request. This is a reliable address that is progressing and refining its style.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
Originally from Cramant, the mecca of blanc de blancs, it follows on from the 2012 vintage, which was praised last year for its power. Born from a late and wet September, the 2013 vintage also appears complex, blending toasted and menthol notes with tangy exotic fruit. This acidity is confirmed on the palate, which is lively with fresh citrus notes and also reveals some richness. Perfect with fish or a creamy Chaource cheese.
About the estate:
Like many Champagne winegrowers, the great-grandfather of the current winegrowers gained independence from the wine trade following the 1929 crisis and began producing wine in 1932. Today, the estate covers 25 hectares, mainly in the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, it has been run by Jean-Emmanuel and Jean-Étienne Bonnaire, sons of Jean-Louis, who passed away in 2015.

We love many vintages at Gault&Millau, and this classic, pure, beautifully expressive 2013 is one of them. The nose is lovely, combining notes of chalk and citrus essences. About the estate:
On the Côte des Blancs, the kingdom of Chardonnay, with vineyards acquired in Fossoy and Bergères-les-Vertus, the family estate founded in 1932, located in Cramant, is now run by the fourth generation with Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. Their 22 hectares of vines, mainly composed of Chardonnay, produce grapes destined for ageing in vats and old barrels (Ver Sacrum and Variance cuvées, aged under cork for more than 6 years). The dosages have all been reduced.
