Located in Cramant, a benchmark terroir for great Chardonnays, this 22-hectare family-owned estate is now run by Jean-Étienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. Perfect as aperitifs, these champagnes are sure bets in the region. The brothers also manage Champagnes Paul Clouet, a sister house that has been affiliated with the family vineyard since 1992. Some of the cuvées are aged in oak, and older vintages can be disgorged upon request. This is a reliable producer that continues to evolve and refine its style.

About the estate:

Like many Champagne winegrowers, the great-grandfather of the current winemakers broke away from the wine merchants following the 1929 crisis and began bottling his own wine in 1932. Today, the estate spans 25 hectares, primarily in the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, it has been run by Jean-Emmanuel and Jean-Étienne Bonnaire, the sons of Jean-Louis, who passed away in 2015.

Located on the Côte des Blancs, the kingdom of Chardonnay, with vineyards acquired in Fossoy and Bergères-les-Vertus, this family-owned estate—founded in 1932 and based in Cramant—is now run by the fourth generation: Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel Bonnaire. Their 22 hectares of vineyards, planted primarily with Chardonnay, produce grapes used for aging in tanks and old barrels (the Ver Sacrum and Variance cuvées, aged under cork for more than 6 years). All dosage levels have been reduced.
