"A distinguished and refined champagne!"

Vintage Brut 2010 has an expressive, complex, and fresh nose, with an elegant bouquet of white and yellow fruit aromas, white flowers, and mineral, brioche, and toasted notes. On the palate, it is refined and precise, with beautiful tension, a delicate texture and a slender structure, leading to a lingering, fresh finish with a hint of minerality and good length. Enjoy with red tuna tartare or ginger prawns...

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rating (2020 guide) 16/20 (2008 vintage) (Very good wine)

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

This brand from the Côte des Bar cooperative winery (which nicely describes itself as a "winemakers' house") in Aube has come a long way and effectively demonstrates the undeniable potential of this "southern" terroir in the Champagne wine region. Apart from the premier cuvée, which remains below the rest of the range, the champagnes have a distinct personality, as evidenced, for example, by the surprising Pinot Blanc.

About the estate:

This cooperative in Aube, founded in 1956, now has 130 members who cultivate 315 hectares spread across ten villages in the Arce Valley, near Bar-sur-Seine. Pinot Noir, the king of grape varieties in the Côte des Bar, is the most widely grown variety in the region.

About the estate:

Founded in 1956, the cooperative now brings together no fewer than 130 winegrowers and covers a total of 315 hectares of vineyards. Overlooking the Arce Valley in the heart of the Côte des Bar, this "winegrowers' house" is housed in a large, characterful 19th-century building. In a terroir where Pinot Noir reigns supreme, the landscape, with its alternating vineyards and forests, promotes biodiversity and allows for an environmentally friendly approach. The range has been expanded with two new certified organic vintages ("Les Authentiques") and a new visitor and tasting area in the estate's cellars, as well as a scenography called "Les Effervescentes" are waiting to be discovered. Of particular note is a vintage Pinot Blanc cuvée, a specialty of the estate.
