"An emblematic cuvée of the Domaine!

A unique blend of 7 almost-forgotten Corsican grape varieties, this cuvée is named after Jacques-Pierre-Charles Abbatucci, Imperial Minister and friend of Napoleon III, who deserved the tribute of this wine. A blend of red fruits and sweet spices, with fatness and very supple tannins. It's sure to please today, but its 15-year ageing potential will reveal many secrets... - Limited quantities!

Wine rated (guide 2025) 92/100 (Vintage 2022)

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 4*Stars (Very high quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

In this historic landmark of Ajaccio vineyards, whose unique collection of old local white grape varieties has raised awareness of the moral and cultural obligation to diversify grape varieties throughout Corsica, Jean-Charles Abbatucci practices irreproachable viticulture with contagious generosity. The recent wines have the suppleness, naturalness and smoothness expected of them, and have clearly improved in consistency thanks to the complicity between the owner and a remarkable consultant oenologist, Emmanuel Gagnepain. Cuvée Faustine shines with pure finesse, while the grand cuvées Collection, Ministre, Général and Diplomate offer the refined complexity of their pioneering grape varieties. New cuvées, monte-bianco, alte-rosso, valle-di-nero, are starting to be produced, but the estate has not yet sent them out for tasting. That will be next year.

Wine rated (guide 2025) 95/100 (Vintage 2022)

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (They represent the excellence of the French vineyard. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wines is always a magical experience)

About the domain :

The history of this estate began in the 20th century with a visionary, Antoine Abbatucci, the founder of this wine nursery, a veritable conservatory of indigenous Corsican grape varieties. Jean-Charles Abbatucci, Antoine's son, has taken the estate to the next level (massal selections, demanding biodynamics, rootstocks adapted to soil and climate...). The wines are easy to digest and fine, thanks to the refusal of excessive interventionism, and the maturing process has been refined by the use of foudres and concrete eggs.
