Domaine Comte Peraldi
Located in the hills of Mezzavia, overlooking the Gulf of Ajaccio, Domaine Comte Peraldi has long been one of the jewels of the island’s wine industry. Abandoned in 1905 following the death of Jean Peraldi, the estate was revived in 1965 by Louis, Count of Poix, his grandson. Committed to producing quality wines, he worked alongside fellow winemakers to secure recognition for the Ajaccio AOC, which was granted in 1971. In 1988, Louis’s son, Guy, took over the venture.
Today, the third generation is at the helm of Domaine Comte Peraldi. Charlotte and Amaury work with the same philosophy as their father and grandfather, prioritizing quality. As such, they began the transition to organic farming in 2019, achieving certification in 2022.
Domaine Comte Peraldi owns and cultivates 50 hectares of vineyards nestled on hillsides in an exceptional terroir: granite soil, a Mediterranean climate, exceptional sunshine, and protection from frequent winds and breezes provided by the surrounding mountains. The estate cultivates the typical grape varieties of Corsica, alongside other Mediterranean varieties.
