Château Prince Pierre Napoléon Bonaparte - Calvi Argentella blanc 2023
92/100
RVF
“Unique winemaking and a complex terroir give rise to this superb Vermentino”
“A clear, brilliant gold. A pure, crystalline nose, with the characteristic brightness of Vermentino and a dominant floral character accompanied by a subtle woody note, all with a sense of freshness. The palate offers density, a lively, refined, and dynamic structure. Mineral bitterness is present; the balance is commendable, and the woodiness will integrate well. A wine that is at home as an aperitif and especially at the table with seafood dishes. Ardeaseal cork.” (Le Guide RVF 2025)

About the estate:
Jean-Raphaël Racine-Grisoli and his brother Jean-Vincent have revived the vineyards of Corsica’s only château—and the southernmost in the Calvi appellation—since purchasing it in 2017. Planting began in 2018 and has since expanded to cover 34 hectares of vineyards. They started from scratch, with virgin soil that they had to “rejuvenate.” Thanks in particular to their agronomist, as well as to Emmanuel Gagnepain, the oenologist for several leading estates in the Corsican wine region, they thoroughly studied the soils and ensured that each grape variety is planted in its ideal location. Demeter certification has been in effect since 2023.
