“A splendid vintage”

“A true rosé with deep orange and coppery hues, bright and luminous. A fresh nose reminiscent of peonies and strawberry compote. The palate is full-bodied and spicy, with lovely depth; a rosé made from 100% Sciacarellu, ideal for the table—pair it with grilled red mullet and tapenade, for example, or a pierrade of red and white meats. ” (The RVF Guide 2024)

4-Star Rated Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Gilles Seroin produces the most consistent wines in Sartène, drawing on old vines and an innate sense of balance in winemaking. He crafts terroir-driven wines across 40 hectares, favoring old grape varieties. His estate is the northernmost in the appellation, near Propriano in the Baracci Valley, surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the Gulf of Valinco. Recent vintages confirm the winemaker’s talent with a flawless track record across all three wine types and wines whose complexity rivals the very best. His children have now joined the venture.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A true rosé with deep orange and coppery hues, bright and luminous. The nose is fresh, evoking peonies and strawberry compote. On the palate, it is full-bodied and spicy, with lovely depth; a rosé made from 100% Sciacarellu, ideal for the table—pair it with grilled red mullet and tapenade, for example, or a pierrade of red and white meats.

About the estate:

The Saint-Ermite estate (named after a legend who healed with plants) is situated on the hillsides overlooking the Gulf of Propriano. Gilles Seroin built his winery in 1996, and the estate is currently in the process of obtaining organic certification. This passionate and engaging winemaker possesses great talent as both a winemaker and a vintner, and is now joined by his children, Jeanne and Guillaume. Across all three wine types, the wines have matured well, revealing themselves to be sincere and generous, and the estate has now joined the ranks of the best on the Isle of Beauty: a well-deserved first star was awarded last year in recognition of these efforts.
