"Instant pleasure!"
“With a very delicate, floral profile—precise and refined—this blend (Vermentinu and a touch of Biancu Gentile) works well. Invigorating and fresh, it has a granite-like texture on the palate, with lovely mineral bitterness.” (RVF July–August 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve
4-Star Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
Gilles Seroin produces the most consistent wines in Sartène, drawing on old vines and an innate sense of balance in winemaking. He crafts terroir-driven wines across 40 hectares, favoring old grape varieties. His estate is the northernmost in the appellation, near Propriano in the Baracci Valley, surrounded by olive groves and overlooking the Gulf of Valinco. Recent vintages confirm the winemaker’s talent, with a flawless track record across all three wine types and wines whose complexity rivals that of the very best. His children have now joined the family business.

About the estate:
The Saint-Ermite estate (named after a figure who, according to legend, practiced herbal medicine) is situated on the hillsides overlooking the Gulf of Propriano. Gilles Seroin built his winery in 1996, and the estate is currently in the process of obtaining organic certification. This passionate and engaging winemaker possesses great talent as both a winemaker and a vintner, and is now joined by his children, Jeanne and Guillaume. Across all three wine types, the wines have matured well, revealing themselves to be authentic and generous, and the estate has now joined the ranks of the best on the Isle of Beauty: a well-deserved first star was awarded last year in recognition of these efforts.
