"Instant gratification!"

"With a very delicate, floral profile that is precise and refined, this combination (Vermentinu and a little Biancu Gentile) works well. Invigorating and fresh, it has a granite flavor on the palate, with lovely mineral bitterness." (RVF July-August 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve

4-star rated estate (Producers of very high quality, those who are the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

Gilles Seroin produces the most consistent wines in Sartène, benefiting from old vines and an innate sense of balance in winemaking. He produces terroir-driven wines on 40 hectares, favoring old grape varieties. His estate is the northernmost in the appellation, near Propriano in the Baracci valley, surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the Gulf of Valinco. The latest vintages confirm the winemaker's talent with a flawless track record in all three colors and wines whose complexity rivals the very best. His children have now joined the adventure.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 92/100

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About wine:

With a very delicate, floral profile that is precise and refined, this combination (Vermentinu and a little Biancu Gentile) works well. Invigorating and fresh, it has a granite flavor on the palate, with lovely mineral bitterness.

About the estate:

The Saint-Ermite estate (named after a saint who, according to legend, used plants for healing) occupies the hillsides overlooking the Gulf of Propriano. Gilles Seroin built his winery in 1996 and is currently in the process of obtaining organic certification. This passionate and engaging winemaker is a talented vinifier and grower, now joined by his children Jeanne and Guillaume. The wines have made great progress in all three colors, proving sincere and generous, and the estate is now among the best on the Isle of Beauty: its first star came last year, a well-deserved reward for these efforts.
