Bodegas Pujanza - Norte 2013

There are sanguine notes mixed with aromas of wild red berries and flowers, with good freshness. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. The palate is extremely fresh, but combines high acidity with incredible power. There is less vintage effect with Norte than with Finca Valdepoleo; here, it seems that the vineyard—apart from being smaller—is more consistent; the identity of the place also seems to be more assertive than the style of the vintage." About wine:

Pujanza Norte 2013 is a Tempranillo harvested from the Finca Norte vineyard. Its real name is San Roman, but they were unable to use this name; the nickname people use is North, because of the powerful wines from the North, which make it very healthy and rather fresh. It is a 2.7-hectare plot on clay-limestone soils, where the limestone bedrock is 50 cm below the surface. The vineyard faces north and is located at an altitude of 720 m. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts, as does malolactic fermentation. There are notes of blood mixed with aromas of wild red berries and flowers, with good freshness. The wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. The palate is extremely fresh, but combines high acidity with incredible power. There is less of a vintage effect with Norte than with Finca Valdepoleo; here, it seems that the vineyard—apart from being smaller—is more consistent, and the identity of the terroir also seems to be more pronounced than the style of the vintage.
