Robert Parker

"The 2011 Finca Valdepoleo is the first vintage and the first wine produced from this vineyard. Owner Carlos San Pedro believes it is the vineyard with the most potential, featuring Tempranillo vines planted in 1973. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. The nose is very ripe, with notes of black cherry, plum, and spices. The medium-bodied palate is very spicy, with a crisp acidity that elevates the wine. A superb Rioja, modern and drinkable through 2020.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)
