"Year after year, San Roman has established itself as one of the appellation’s most reliable wines, made from 100% Tempranillo grown on stony, clay-rich sandy soils in various villages within the Toro appellation. The wine was aged for two years in French and American oak barrels, 80% of which were new. It is an earthy wine, with deep aromas of peat, ink, graphite, and tar, and very ripe black and blue fruits. The palate is quite full-bodied, with abundant yet refined tannins and sufficient acidity and length. A Toro with character.” (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker)

I think this type of Spanish wine is becoming more and more interesting and complex—a real treat. I should have bought a case, but I’ll make up for it.
