Domaine Tokaj-Hetszölö

TheTokaj-Hetszölö estate is ideally located in a wine-growing region dating back to the 15th century, on the southern slope of Mount Tokaj. Since 1722, this 55-hectare estate belonging to the Austro-Hungarian Empire has been classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé, thanks in particular to the location of the vineyard, situated on an exceptional terroir: volcanic rock soil, south-facing exposure benefiting from optimal sunshine, proximity to the Tisza and Bodrog rivers promoting the mists necessary for the formation of botrytis cinerea, known as "noble rot," which is essential for the production of the famous sweet wines of Tokaj. Particular care is taken in the production of Tokaj-Hétszölö wines, with manual harvesting, organic farming (certified in 2009), and barrels made in the region using traditional methods from the best oak trees in the Zemplén mountains.
