“The 2016 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn is open, more concentrated, and structured. This generous, full-bodied wine offers lovely floral notes of rosehip and wild rose. We’re talking here about smaller fruits such as plums, blackcurrants, and blackberries, along with plenty of power. Everything has reached perfect maturity in this 2016 vintage, representing that rare fusion of quantity and quality.” (Wine Advocate 2019)

About the wine:
Here is a wonderfully spicy and opulent interpretation of Nebbiolo—yet another full-bodied and rich Barbaresco from Gaja. The 2016 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn is open, more concentrated, and structured. This generous, full-bodied wine offers lovely floral notes of rosehip and wild rose. We’re talking here about smaller fruits such as plums, blackcurrants, and blackberries, along with plenty of power. Everything has reached perfect ripeness in this 2016 vintage, representing that rare fusion of quantity and quality. This is what you get from the dense soils of a warm, south-facing vineyard like Sorì Tildìn and others like it, where the earth can retain moisture. The 2016 growing season was also marked by sudden changes in weather, and rainfall came at just the right times.

About the wine:
Extremely fragrant aromas of dried flowers, dried strawberries, and pumice, along with notes of tar, leading into a full-bodied palate with soft, polished tannins and a long, juicy finish. Fairly broad tannins. Dusty texture. Best enjoyed starting in 2021.
