About the wine:
This is still one of my favorite Pieropan wines. The fruit comes from an 8.5-hectare cru planted in 1971 on volcanic soils, and the wine is aged in cement vats for an extended period of 15 months. The organic Soave Classico Calvarino 2023 (composed of 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave) is a true marvel, with a dense texture and a particularly silky approach that gently envelops the palate. The bouquet is beautifully complex, with notes of honey, apricot and poached apple. I love the intensity and seamless quality of this medium-bodied white. Salty mineral nuances fuel an elegant palate. Production is 60,000 bottles. 2025-2032
