A distinctive, straightforward Tuscan wine showcasing pronounced fruitiness reminiscent of cherry, black plum, and blackcurrant, with a nice touch of spice and some smoky notes, supported by firm, refined tannins and lively acidity. Medium-bodied, the palate is taut and slender, ending with a spicy finish. Overall, it lacks a bit of structure and, above all, length. Best enjoyed with a meal, such as wild boar meatballs in tomato-basil sauce. Price is on the high side. Rating = 3.7.
