Domaine Rolet - Côtes du Jura Tradition (Chardonnay Savagnin) 2018
91/100
RVF
"A fine expression of Côtes du Jura".
A very fine, elegant Côte du Jura made from an atypically matured blend of Savagnin and Chardonnay. The Savagnin is aged under glass for 3 years in oak barrels, while the Chardonnay is aged in toasted tuns. A harmonious duo of roundness and freshness, combining notes of dried and shelled fruits, complemented by double crooks of fine spices. An expressive cuvée that will improve over the next 25 years.

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
This is one of the largest estates in the Jura, with 65 hectares of vines spread over the Arbois, Côtes du Jura and L'Étoile appellations. The range, which includes numerous cuvées of all types of wine (ouillés, sous voile, crémants, macvin, paille and jaune), with a majority of whites, was reputed to be complete but uneven, with some fine Gems in the older vintages. The wines are regaining a certain unity of quality.

Wine rated (guide 2024) 91/100 (Vintage 2016)
Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
The Arbois appellation owes much to Domaine Rolet. Although over the years it has managed to preserve its own style, a combination of classic Jura craftsmanship and technical mastery, the domaine has not always achieved homogeneity across its range. Wines typified by maturation under sail (in particular Arbois yellow wines) are the most consistently successful. In spring 2018, the estate and its vineyards were acquired by the Devillard family, well known for their Burgundy production, along with other shareholders. Under the aegis of Cédric Ducoté the latest vintages show increased stylistic assurance and more consistency, we are delighted.
