Domaine de Cazaban
Founded in 2007, the Cazaban estate is located very close to Carcassonne, on the southern slope of the Montagne Noire. In the heart of the Cabardès appellation—a unique appellation in the Languedoc region— Cazaban has been Ecocert-certified organic since 2010 and Demeter-certified biodynamic since 2013.
In 2017, it was taken over by Emmanuel Taillez and Joseph Parcé (Domaine de la Préceptorie); today, it is managed solely by Emmanuel Taillez.
The Cazaban estate spans 22 hectares of vineyards across three distinct terroirs: the Plaine de Cazaban, with clay-limestone soil; the foothills of the Montagne Noire, with calcareous schist and schist; and western Minervois, with clay-limestone soil. The somewhat unique Cabardès appellation is located in western Languedoc, benefiting from both oceanic and Mediterranean influences, where the traditional Languedoc grape varieties—Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, and Mourvèdre—thrive, alongside a significant proportion of Bordeaux varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
