"A true emblem of the Corbières region, embodying the spirit of the estate."

A beautiful expression of the Boutenac appellation, this wine offers an intense bouquet of raspberry, candied cherry, thyme, and hibiscus, enhanced by subtle smoky notes. Supple and elegant on the palate, it reveals beautiful depth and a subtle floral touch. The superb finish is perfectly balanced, combining richness and freshness.

Wine rating (2025 guide) 93/100 (2022 vintage)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Pierre Bories has elevated his family estate to the top of the Corbières appellation and has been managing it with a masterful hand since 2001, displaying the same determination and high standards in the vineyards as in the cellar. Comprising a vast 150-hectare estate (including the former terroir of Château des Ollieux), around ten kilometers from Narbonne, the vineyard produces wines of great elegance, from the prestige cuvée to the cuvée or, and even atal-sia, produced in the Corbières-Boutenac appellation, undoubtedly one of the jewels in the estate's crown. The entire range is in perfect harmony, making this one of our favorite addresses in the sector. Its longstanding consistency fully justifies the third star we have awarded it.

About the estate:

Founded in 1860 in the Boutenac region, this vast family vineyard, originally part of the Fontfroide Abbey, has remained in the same family ever since. In 1896, a cellar and barrel storehouse were built using stones from the estate's quarry. Jacqueline and François Bories relaunched it in the 1980s, joined in 2001 by their son Pierre. Cultivated without herbicides or pesticides, the vineyard, which is in the process of converting to organic farming, covers 65 hectares.

Rated estate (2026 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Pierre Bories took over this vast family estate, which was expanded in 2006 to include the neighboring Les Ollieux vineyard. The estate boasts a beautiful diversity of terroirs, ranging from clay-limestone and rounded pebbles to the Boutenac terroir (red sandstone and limestone), where the estate has established itself as a must-visit destination. It is above all the expression of the Boutenac wines that excites us. Almost the entire vineyard is pruned in a goblet style to better protect the grapes. Always full of ideas, Pierre has completely renovated the estate and created La Touketa, a restaurant and tasting area in the heart of the vineyards, open during the season. For the past three years, the winemaker has also been the owner of Château Rives Blanques in Limoux.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 06/21/2024

Favorite this lush and full-bodied Corbières-Boutenac. After a frank attack, Prestige delivers a full-bodied and generous wine, endowed with exceptional aromatic richness with aromas of blackcurrant and ripe blackberries, complemented by notes of peppery spices, mocha, and undergrowth...These are reflected in a mellow, velvety texture with a caressing smoothness, carried by plenty of freshness and bright tannins. On the mid-palate, the wine tightens slightly and carries us towards an extremely long and particularly intense finish, magnified by delicate hints of smoke and vanilla. Value for money - Unashamedly enjoyable. A very fine wine to be reserved for distinctive dishes, such as tender beef cheek with spices, melt-in-the-mouth carrots and wine. Rating = 4.5.
