Wine rated 90/100

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the wine:

This vintage features fine tannins in a smooth, well-structured body, bursting with Mediterranean flavors.

About the estate:

Robert Joyeux has balanced his career as an industrialist with the extensive renovation of the estate, enabling him to create the Corbières of his dreams: elegant and expressing the complexity and diversity of its terroirs. Since 2011, he and his wife Geneviève have devoted themselves full-time to their estate, and their son Hubert has recently joined them to promote this fine wine around the world. The estate has been certified organic since 2013; the grapes are tended to perfection, with gentle extractions, no crushing of the grapes, and gravity-fed processing, resulting in generous yet refined and authentic wines. The Inédite cuvée displays depth and structure, while the exuberant and character-filled Cuvée Numéro 1 lives up to its name. We were also charmed by the new La Coume cuvée, which is lively and fresh. The whites and rosés are delicious.

Rated estate (2024 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

La Cendrillon? A hamlet in Ornaisons, at the foot of the Fontfroide massif, an old inn along the Roman road that connected the Narbonnaise region to Aquitaine. A native of the region, entrepreneur Robert Joyeux took over the family estate in 1993 and spared no expense on investments: new plantings, construction of a wine cellar. Today, 42 hectares have been certified organic since late 2012.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 91/100 (Excellent wine)

About the wine:

[...] The 2017 vintage, aged in oak barrels, offers aromas of oil, crushed stone, licorice, and blueberry. It is a supple, full-bodied wine that is thoroughly appealing on the palate, delivering rich flavors without being overly heavy, and finishing with a long, silky aftertaste.
